Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

Foliva Labs ("we," "us," "our") operates folivalabs.com and sells the Foliva Dog Swim Vest. This page explains what information we collect when you visit or buy from us, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We built our own simple, first-party analytics instead of installing ad trackers, so there's less going on here than you'd find on most online stores.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you place an order, checkout happens on PayPal's own website through a secure PayPal payment link. PayPal collects your name, shipping address, email address, and payment details directly — we never see or store your card number. After you pay, PayPal sends us your order details (name, email, shipping address, items ordered, and order total) so we can pass your order to our fulfillment partner and get it shipped to you.

If you email support@folivalabs.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write to us, so we can reply.

Information we collect automatically

We run our own lightweight analytics on folivalabs.com — built and hosted by us, not a third-party ad platform. It records:

  • A random visitor ID and session ID, stored in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage, so we can tell repeat visits from new ones without third-party cookies.
  • The page you're on and the site that referred you, if any.
  • UTM campaign parameters, if you arrived from a marketing link (for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign).
  • An approximate location — country, region, and city — estimated from your IP address at the time of your visit. We store only that approximate location; your raw IP address is never written to our database.
  • General device information: your device type, operating system, and browser.
  • Your screen resolution.
  • Whether and when you click the "Get the Vest" button. This tells us the button was clicked — it doesn't mean a purchase was completed, since checkout itself happens on PayPal's site and we aren't automatically notified until PayPal confirms your payment.
  • How far you scroll down the page.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other third-party advertising or tracking tool on this site. Nobody outside Foliva Labs sees this analytics data, and we don't sell it or share it with advertisers.

How We Use This Information

  • To fulfill your order — sending your shipping details to our fulfillment partner, tracking delivery, and handling any return or exchange.
  • To answer you — responding to anything you send to support@folivalabs.com.
  • To understand our site and marketing — seeing which pages, referrers, and campaigns (via UTM parameters) actually bring people to folivalabs.com, so we know what's working.
  • To keep the store running smoothly — spotting bugs, unusual traffic, or potential fraud.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations — like keeping order records for tax purposes.

We don't use your information for anything beyond these purposes, and we don't sell it to anyone.

Where We Store It

  • Analytics data is stored in our own database, hosted with our database provider, Supabase.
  • Order and payment information lives primarily in PayPal's systems — PayPal is a separate company with its own privacy practices. See PayPal's Privacy Statement for how they handle it.
  • Support emails are stored in our email inbox.

How Long We Keep It

  • We keep analytics data for as long as we run this store, or until you ask us to delete the data tied to your visitor ID.
  • We keep order records for as long as we reasonably need them for customer service, accounting, tax, and warranty or return purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
  • We keep support emails for as long as needed to resolve your question, plus a reasonable time afterward in case you follow up.

These are the retention periods we currently follow day to day — they're not yet locked into a formal, written data-retention schedule. Email support@folivalabs.com if you want details on your own data, or want it deleted sooner.

Payment Information

All payments are processed by PayPal. When you check out, you're on PayPal's website, protected by PayPal's own security systems. We never receive, see, or store your full card number, PayPal password, or bank account details. If you have a question about a charge, PayPal's own transaction record is the source of truth — we can look up your order using your PayPal transaction ID or the email address you checked out with.

Cookies and Local Storage

We don't use third-party tracking cookies. Our analytics uses your browser's built-in localStorage and sessionStorage to remember a random visitor and session ID — not your name, email, or any contact detail. You can clear this at any time in your browser's privacy settings. Doing so won't affect your ability to shop or check out, and it won't touch any order you've already placed — that record lives with PayPal and in our own order records, not in your browser.

Your Choices and Rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Ask us what information we hold tied to your order or email address, and ask us to correct or delete it, subject to what we're required to keep for accounting, tax, or legal reasons.
  • Opt out of any marketing email using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by writing to us.
  • Clear your browser's local storage to reset your analytics visitor ID at any time.

To do any of this, email support@folivalabs.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you're a California resident, state privacy law — the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act — gives you additional rights over your "personal information," including the right to:

  • Know what personal information we've collected about you, and why.
  • Request a copy of that information.
  • Request that we delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We don't sell or share personal information with third parties for advertising purposes, so there's nothing to opt out of today — but you're welcome to submit the request in writing at any time.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@folivalabs.com from the address associated with your request. We may ask for information to verify it's really you before acting on a request, and we'll respond within the timeframe California law requires.

Children's Privacy

folivalabs.com is intended for adults purchasing on behalf of their pet. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@folivalabs.com and we'll delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including HTTPS encryption, to protect information in transit, and we rely on PayPal's and Supabase's own security practices for the data they hold on our behalf. No online system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

International Visitors

We ship to customers worldwide, and you're welcome to order from wherever you are. Our data is processed and stored in the United States, so if you're visiting from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States — the same as with most US-based online stores.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our store or practices change. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we do, and we'll do our best to flag any significant change here.
