Built around the chin, not just the ribs.
Most swim vests stop at the ribcage and leave the head to fend for itself. Ours runs a soft, buoyant pad up under the jaw, clipped to the collar, so a dog who's stopped paddling is held face-up instead of tipping forward.
Dogs work out the straps in about ten seconds — mostly by trying to shake the whole thing off, then giving up.
Nothing to inflate, nothing to charge. Buckle it on before the water, not after.
